Prominent or Preeminent?

The Colossians had married Jesus; made a commitment to him. That came with preconceived notions as to who God is, or how the spiritual life is lived. They continually had notions voiced to them, and residue, from their host culture. There were, as we said last week, certain things that were being taught about; things contrary to what Jesus really was. What they needed to do was strip it all away allowing Jesus to speak for himself. To allow him to define who he is and his relationship to them. Because, remember from last week, we live out of what we know to be true of Jesus.
